Plan Your Visit

We know it’s hard to visit a new church. Hopefully, this page will help you be a little more comfortable visiting us!

Tips for visiting on a Sunday!

We know visiting a church is really tough and somewhat uncomfortable! so, here are a few tips for you before you visit (and hopefully this information helps make you more comfortable!):

  • We dress pretty casually, so wear normal clothes. No need to dress up (unless you want to!)–our pastors preach in jeans and a button-up shirt, sometimes a t-shirt.
  • We mostly preach out of the ESV or CSB translation of the Bible, but a lot of people bring whatever translation Bible they have. We don’t have a set version of the Bible that we require!
  • Our music is a mixture of some familiar hymns and new songs. We love music that speaks strong theological truth.
  • Our church is pretty small right now. We’ve been in the process of rebuilding/revitalizing it over the past 5 years. We’ve changed names, renovated the property, and have been more involved in the community since then. We still have a long way to go!
  • We have a TON of kids–meaning we’re used to noisy kids and fussy babies. In fact, we love it! We also dismiss the kids for kids’ church mid-way through the service and have a nursery for the whole length of the service for the littlest ones. We also have a nursing mothers’ room where you can sit and watch the service in a quiet(er) environment.
  • Enter through the front double doors of the church, and you’ll be greeted with a friendly smile and a chance to grab some coffee. We also have a table at the front with extra Bibles (which you can have!) and other good books/resources.
  • Sit wherever you’d like, and enjoy this time of worship and fellowship!

Our Sunday mornings start with Bible study and fellowship (for all ages at 9:15 AM) before transitioning over to a time of worship to our great God (at 10:30 AM). During this time we exalt our Lord through singing, reading the Word, prayer, and preaching. You’ll find individuals of all backgrounds, dressed in jeans, t-shirts, button-up shirts, etc. joined together in thanksgiving and praise to our Lord.

We are different than many churches around. We are a smaller congregation, but we emphasize a strong community relationship with the other church members and a few important aspects of every Christian’s life.

Our church is a revitalization of a centuries-old church. We have a long way to go still, but we have seen God do incredible things. Do you want to be on the frontline of God’s mission work here on the Eastside of Cincinnati? Come check us out. Here are our distinctives that guide us as we seek to serve the Lord faithfully:

  • Robust Theology: We are committed to expository preaching and teaching, meaning everything comes from the Bible and is grounded in Scripture. Preaching is typically verse-by-verse, book-by-book, with strong application and deep theology.
  • Fervent Worship: We want to respond to the Word of the Lord appropriately. However, our Sundays are not a show, and we don’t over-emphasize the emotionally jolting parts of worship. Instead, we want genuine worshipers loving their Savior.
  • Missional Outreach: We love our village, communities, and neighborhoods. We enjoy time building genuine relationships with others and pouring into others. Still, we are insistent on a clearly articulated Gospel message for all.
  • Intentional Discipleship: Each believer must grow in their faith; this requires a personal desire and a group of other believers seeking the same goal. Additionally, every believer should pour into less mature Christians, strengthen each other, and raise a new generation of leaders.

Kids Ministry

We believe the best discipleship for kids comes from you, the parent. We, as a church, are here to help you as you raise your kids in godliness. We have a nursery available every Sunday for kids under 3 years old. If you’d like, we have a Kid’s Worship for your children, which dismisses midway through our service.

Kids always have something great to do at The Village Church. We have wonderful teachers and volunteers who teach strong, biblical truth to our children each week on a level they can understand.

Frequently Asked Questions

What time is your Sunday service?

We offer one service on Sunday mornings at 10:30 am. We hold Sunday school/Bible Study classes at 9:15 am.

What should I wear?

Something comfortable. Most of us dress casually, but if you’re more comfortable in a coat and tie, please wear that! Our pastor will preach in anything from a t-shirt and jeans to a button-up with a tie!

What happens during a Sunday morning service?

Our services are relaxed and the atmosphere is friendly and informal. The music is contemporary but we also enjoy the great hymns of the faith. Our preaching is directly from the Word of God. And our purpose is always the glorification of God. Whether or not you consider yourself a follower of Christ, we hope you will feel right at home!

Are you involved in missions?

Yes! Because of the gospel’s impact on us, we are eager to share that good news with the world around us. We support missionaries through the SBC’s cooperative program and give to dedicated missionaries. We also participate in mission trips as a church.

Where do I go when I get there?

When you arrive, enter through the front doors where you will find the sanctuary, bible study rooms, and restrooms. People will greet you and help you as you enter!

What about my children?

In addition to our service in the sanctuary, we provide children’s church for children up through third grade. Your children will enjoy learning about God in a fun atmosphere we call the “Kids Village.” We dismiss our children’s church midway through the service. We also offer nursery throughout all of Sunday school and kids’ church for children 2 years old and under.

Do you meet at other times throughout the week?

Yes! We offer community groups, service opportunities, and other Bible studies. Please see our calendar for what’s going on!

Can I listen to messages online?

Yes! You can watch many of our Sunday messages here on our website or on our mobile app.

Do you have a mobile app?

We do! Download our app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. You’ll have access to the most important ways to participate in church life, including past sermons, upcoming events, giving, and more. Download Our App
